Before Living Church began, it existed in the heart of God. God laid on our hearts the belief that there’s more. Our logo is an asterisk. It’s more than a shape, it’s a symbol, reminding us that we can never be satisfied, but always striving to attain all that God has for us. We believe there’s more.
In 2010, a team of individuals began to make preparations to leave other ministry positions and full-time jobs and move to Mansfield to launch Living Church. On October 10th, 2010, Living Church opened its doors to the people of DFW. For the first 5 years, LC met in a rental facility here in Mansfield. Every week, a faithful team arrived early to setup and teardown everything needed to create an environment for people to connect to Jesus.
In 2014, we began searching for a permanent home. With the explosive growth in Mansfield this proved to be very challenging. After a year of searching, the Lord answered our prayers, and directed us to another church in our city. They had a need, and we had a need. God brought us together to answer the prayers of both congregations. The Lord blessed us with not only a permanent home, but some new family members to fill it. We began an 8 month full interior and exterior renovation, and on May 3rd, 2015, we celebrated the Grand Opening of our new facility.
Since moving into our new location, every aspect of ministry has grown exponentially. We’ve seen hundreds saved, hundreds baptized, and have received countless stories of life transformation. Because of this massive and expedited growth, God called us to charge and we purchased 36 acres of land off of highway 287 to build the future home of Living Church and reach generations to come.
At the end of 2019 Living Church was growing so quickly that we had reached capacity at our Matlock location. We were charging forward on our future building but knew we couldn't just wait to reach more people. So we made the decision to move forward and move into Willie Pigg Auditorium. As we were preparing, 2020 and Covid19 began. Despite all the obstacles and challenges, Living Church and our incredible team pushed forward. We produced online services, served our community, and took the step to open the doors of Living Church at Willie Pigg Auditorium in June of 2020. Now, every weekend we set up and tear down church so we have more room to see lives changed. We know it's not about the building, and we will leverage Willie Pigg Auditorium, our Matlock location, and the future home of Living Church to reach all the people.
We are so thankful for God’s direction and provision, and we know THERE'S MORE. We hope you’ll come and be a part of the next chapter!
Our mission is to show the love of Jesus to people who know Him and don’t know Him.
- Above all else, guard your heart.
- Your expectation affects your experience.
- Believe there’s more and ask what’s next.
- There’s no such thing as just another Sunday.
- We are party starters, both here and in heaven.
- We will give all we are and all we have to reach all the people.
- We push forward for those following behind.
- Know each other and be known.
God is the loving Creator of all that exists. He has no beginning and no end. His majesty is indescribable with the limitations of human language! He is not removed from our world. He deeply desires and relentlessly invites us into a relationship of faith, friendship, learning, and service with Him. God exists as the Trinity, in three persons, yet one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
(Genesis 1:1, 26-27, 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1-5, 18; 1 John 5:7)
God had a desire to live life with us and experience what we experience, good and bad. He accomplished this through the birth of His son, Jesus Christ. We believe He is God with us. He lived a sinless life, was crucified for the sins of us all, was buried, and rose again from the dead, demonstrating His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven and will return again to Earth to reign as King. We believe there is no way to the Father except through Jesus.
(Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:22-23; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 1:3-4; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Titus 2:11-14; Hebrews 4:14-15)
When Jesus ascended to heaven He sent the Holy Spirit to join us, fill us, and teach us to live Christ-centered lives. When you see a believer full of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, and self-control, you know that the Holy Spirit is alive in them. In addition to that, the Holy Spirit can empower believers to witness, pray beyond their own human capabilities, and operate in a number of other spiritual gifts.
(John 14:16-17, 16:7-15; Acts 1:8, 2:4; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 12:1-31, 14:1-40; 2 Corinthians 3:17-18; Ephesians 1:13, 5:18)
We believe that God speaks through the Bible to us today, and it’s our constant endeavor to seek to understand His message and apply it to our lives. We hold the scripture in high esteem, and give our absolute best to presenting it passionately, clearly, and relevantly. We believe the entire Bible is the living and active, inspired Word of God. God gave the Bible to us through men who were moved by the Spirit to write the words of Scripture. The Bible is without error. If you think the Bible is boring then we challenge you to take a closer look at it with us, because it can and should shape the way we live.
(Matthew 28:19-20; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:14-17; Hebrews 4:12)
We believe there’s power in prayer because prayer changes things. We believe that when people pray, God listens. Prayer is a two-way conversation. Prayer is not just us talking to God, but us taking time to listen to Him. We believe that through prayer we can receive direction in life, physical healing, peace that surpasses the chaos of our situation, and direct connection with our Father.
(1 John 5: 13-15, 2 Chronicles 7:14, Jeremiah 29:12, James 5:13-20, Mark 11:24)
We believe that the church is the body of Christ. It is made up of people growing in God, worshipping together, connecting to each other, and serving those in need. The church is also the place where we have a public declaration of faith through water baptism and we remember Jesus’ sacrifice through taking communion together. Jesus’ purpose was to seek and save that which was lost. The church has the same goal, to not only be a place for those who have a relationship with Jesus, but to welcome those who don’t.
(Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:14-16; 1 Corinthians 12:12-30; Ephesians 1:19-23; 4:15-16; Colossians 1:18)
When Jesus walked the earth He made a very simple invitation, “Come follow me.” Today he makes the same invitation. Because of our sin, we are all in need of a savior. The great news is, the work of Salvation was done when Jesus was crucified, buried, and rose from the dead. For those who accept it, His finished work on the cross saves us from eternal separation from Him. Our works don’t save us…the work is already done! If you want to accept Jesus into your heart, it’s easy, just ask him to forgive you of your sin and be the Lord of your life.
(Luke 24:47, John 3:3, Romans 10:13-15, Ephesians 2:8, Titus 2:11, Titus 3:5-7)
